I have once read in Nora Roberts' the Irish Born Trilogy book on how beautiful Ireland is, the way she described it so exquisitely always motivated me to visit it at least once in my lifetime. Cliffs of Moher was just that for me, it was a dream come true, a natural beauty that can never be justified by the photographs or text descriptions – it is a must-see place, a beauty to behold with your own set of eyes.
I was quite disappointed I could not get a better image of the Cliffs, well I could not take the cold weather and strong winds as it was raining when I visited. Nevertheless, The Cliffs of Moher was magnificent, I was left speechless for sometime with then nature's beauty.
We pre-booked our tours online prior to our arrival with WILD ROVER TOURS >> do check out Giants Causeway & Belfast City Day Tour from Dublin for more information!
It took us almost 3 hours to reach the cliffs from Dublin and we were given 2 hours to visit. This were not sufficient, I strongly recommended minimum 3 to 4 hours allocated for your visit as there is just so much to see and learn 😊!

The Cliffs of Moher
We first visited the cliffs as the weather was getting bad, it was already drizzling when we reached, and we were worried we wouldn’t be able to see the cliffs if the downpour gets heavier – for you to completely enjoy the visit, make sure you check the weather before planning. There were two opposite direction we could head; one was towards O’Brien’s Tower and the other was towards the cliffs itself. With the limited time given, we could only choose one and we headed towards the tower. We climbed the steps leading to the tower, and the whole stretch of the journey was probably the best part of my whole trip, and I actually covered London, Scotland, and Denmark.
The strong connection you feel with nature, and how majestic the creation is: earth, sky and sea all coming together in one place, it’s the kind of masterpiece that makes you speechless. The waves relentlessly crashing against the rocky shore, the sheer magnitude of the cliffs, towering above the churning waters, with every breath of the crisp, salty air, the whole experience leaves an indelible mark on your heart. A must-see place in your lifetime!
We then visited The Visitor Centre that has great exhibition that you can read through and learn about the cliffs, and wildlife surroundings. There was a virtual reality film that lasted 5 minutes, great information on the interrelationship between the cliffs, land and sea lives. We managed to get an ice-cream and purchased some souvenirs in the visitor center. We left the cliffs around 1pm to continue our remaining trip, Galway City Tour. The drive took us close to 2 hours and we enjoyed the scenic view along the ride.
Discovering Galway - A City Filled with History & Culture
We arrived at Galway around 3pm and given 2 hours to spend our time in Galway city. There were numerous shops and restaurants as we were dropped at the High Street Road. The tour guide Maurice was exceptional, he briefed us the Galway history along few streets, and provided great recommendations on local foods and snacks we could have for lunch. We tried most of the recommendations, had amazing pasta at Trattoria Magnetti, fries at Pratai and finished it with Murphy’s Ice Cream. The crispy fries and ice cream is definitely must try 😊!
